Memorable Day in Pairc Uí Chaoimh

Our U-10 & U-11 teams had great sport on Saturday in Páirc Uí Chaoimh. The lads played in the Rebel Óg monster Hurling & Football blitz. A very enjoyable afternoon had by all.

Under 12’s in Action

U12 hurling league group 3 Watergrasshill 0-5 Sarsfields 4-5

They say goals wins matches and Sars got the goals at the right time in this game just before halftime and 5 minutes after the restart. In between the goals it was a good even contest, the Hill defending was solid with Ely, Jamie, Donnacha & Andrew all doing good work. In and the middle third Max, Fionn and Ciarán were having a great battle with their Sars opponents and upfront Ags, James O’ Mahoney & Paddy O’ Shea making his hill debut we’re finding space & scores hard to come by with Sars defending very strong and giving no space to our forwards. In what was a good game of hurling we didn’t get the breaks to get the goals we needed to put pressure on Sars, so plenty work to do on the training field in the weeks ahead for us.

U12 hurling league group 1 Watergrasshill 1-11 Nemo 0-7

This was a hard fought win against a strong Nemo team who were the better team in the 1st half leading at the break 0-3 to 0-5.

The Hill were conceding a lot of frees and only for Danny in goal and Ronan & James in the backs who were solid & kept us in the game, the lead could have been a lot more.

The second half we upped the work rate and we started turning over Nemo and getting scores on the board with Sam O’ Leary hitting 0-9 from frees & play, and recent sub Luke Ryan with his 1st touch flicking the ball to the net from Danny’s long puck out. We never looked back from there and saw out the game with Cian, James, Alex & Robbie working hard to the end to get the win.
