Rebel Óg on the road

Our Rebel Óg teams were crisscrossing the county last weekend playing some great hurling, growing their skills and having fun.

Our U7 boys travelled to Fermoy on Saturday and played 4 great games.

Also on Saturday, our U8's got the show on the road early with a 9am start in Youghal. A big thanks to the parents who travelled and supported them all the way. The kids put in a huge effort and got better and better as the games went on.

Our U9 hurlers made the short trip to Rathcormac and played Bride Rovers on Saturday morning. 19 young budding hurlers continuing to improve with every game.

Lotto

There was no winner of the Lotto Jackpot this week. Numbers drawn were 18, 23, 24 & 31. Lucky dip winners are Niall Griffin, Brian Cronin, Mary, Niamh & Kay Sheehan and Mike Kennedy. Congrats to you all. Next week's jackpot is €4,800 and draw will take place on 19^th June in The Fir Tree bar.

Tickets are on sale in some of the village businesses like The Hut Bar, The Fir Tree, Johnny's Shop and our new Lotto stand in Ross's Centra. Tickets can also be purchased on-line via our club website (www.watergrasshillgaa.ie). The Club would like to take this opportunity to thank all our members and supporters of the Watergrasshill GAA Club Lotto. The Club Lotto is a vital source of income for the running of all our teams within the Club and for future development of our facilities, so we ask you to please support it if you are in a position to do so. Remember, if you’re not in you can’t win.

Condolences

Our condolences to the family, friends and club mates of the great Teddy McCarthy who was laid to rest. A legend in both codes, Teddy’s achievements in 1990 creating history in our games.

We would also like to express our deepest sympathies and condolences to the Murphy Family at this sad time.

John and his siblings have all been past players and members of the club and in turn their children continue to follow suit.

As a mark of respect all team activities in Watergrasshill GAA pitch will be cancelled on Friday and Saturday this week.

Our thoughts and prayers are with John's family , friends and neighbours at this difficult time.
