U-15’s progress to East Cork Final
Our U-15 boys continued their current run of good form with a comprehensive 3-9 to 0-6 win over Erins Own in their Rebel Óg East, Fé 15 Championship Semi-Final last weekend.
Having already defeated Cobh, Fr. O’Neills and Whitechurch in the Round Robin section of this competition, the boys will face a strong St. Colmans side who comfortably topped their group and defeated Cobh in their semi-final. The boys from the Hill are on a good run of form having also progressed from the Féile group and winning their Féile quarter final against Crosshaven. We wish the boys all the very best in their upcoming final.
Go-Games visit Lisgoold
Well done to our U-7 and U-8 teams who travelled to Lisgoold last weekend to play in their Go-Games matches. The boys had some great fun and many thanks to Lisgoold for hosting and organizing a great morning of hurling. These youngsters bring a great energy to every field and this was evident on Saturday morning where Lisgoold was alive with the sounds of fun and the clash of the ash. Given the tough 18 months we’ve all had, it’s great to see our youngest members back having fun and developing their skills – well done boys.
U-12’s top table
Our U-12’s completed their 15-A-Side, League Campaign last week with a comfortable win over Cobh. This topped a fantastic run for the boys who finished top of their table following wins over Killeagh and Mayfield in previous rounds. There is tremendous credit due to the boys given that this is their first year in Rebel Óg competition and their first year playing 15-A-Side, the results they achieved are just rewards for the hard work they have put in. There is natural skills galore in this group, given that they amassed 13-31 over their three games – but they have really gelled as a group and are having great fun & developing great teamwork. Well done to the boys, their coaches and of course their parents.
Lotto
There was no winner of the Lotto Jackpot this week. Numbers drawn were 3, 5, 14 & 29. Lucky dip winners are Barry Joyce, Martin Ryan, Deirdre Doyle & Pat Moynihan. Congrats to you all. Next week's jackpot is a cool €9,700 and draw will take place Monday 13th September. Tickets are on sale in some of the village businesses, like Centra & Johnny's Shop. Tickets can also be purchased on-line via our club website (www.watergrasshillgaa.ie). T
Pitch Signage & Advertising Opportunity
As we enter a new decade, we do so with great optimism and excitement here at Watergrasshill GAA Club. Later this decade we will celebrate our centenary year, which will be a special milestone. While it's important to celebrate the past and the history of the club, it’s also important we look forward to the future. With this in mind, the club will shortly be undertaking a development project, to prepare the club for the future and further position ourselves at the center of our community. Part of this project will be the development of our existing club grounds. To that end we will endeavor to raise a revenue stream from advertising, while giving businesses the opportunity to advertise their services and reach a wider audience within our community. With the playing numbers on the increase our facility will be a busy spot over the coming years, and we would love to have your name and business positioned in the hearts and minds of all those who visit on a weekly basis. We are offering advertising space via pitch signage, 3000mm wide x 750mm high. These are a 5-year gloss laminate, flash mounted to 0.2mm skin diabond sign. If you would be interested in this opportunity to advertise and support our club, please contact Claire O Leary on 087-6239297 or any member of the club who can provide assistance.
