Our U12’s were in action tonight in the Rebel Og East Hurling League with St. Colman’s the visitors to the Hill. In what was a lovely evening for hurling both teams served up a highly entertaining and competitive fair. Against a well drilled, skill full and tenacious St Colman’s team, our boys had to work hard and that they just did. After an evenly matched first half, the score at halftime was Watergrasshill 2-3, St. Colman’s 5pts. The second half just like the first, proved to be very close with both teams working extremely hard, on and off the ball. There was some great long range scores from both teams and also excellent free taking on show. Goals tend to be the difference in games and that’s how it panned out, and it was the Hill who made the most of the chances in the end, rattling the net on four occasions in total. It still wasn’t plan sailing in the second half and the lads had to work their socks off right up to the final whistle in ensure they took the win. It was a great team performance from the Hill and credit also goes to St. Colman’s who made us work hard for this win in the end. Final score, Watergrasshill 4-7, St. Colmans 1-11.
