Weekly NOTES 15.05.19   15/05/2019

Fixtures & Results

Our Intermediates have two league outings in the next week. Wednesday 15th May, 8pm at home to Meelin and Sunday 19th May, 11am at home to Valley Rovers. Please show your support.

Our Juniors played a league fixture at home against Brian Dillons last Saturday in the Hill. It was a tough, competitive and useful outing for the lads and despite missing a number of players to injury they battled hard but unfortunately came out the wrong side of a 4-15 to 15pts defeat in the end. Hard luck lads.

Juvenile Fixtures

It’s predominantly a football fixture weekend so quite week/weekend for Juvenile games again this week.

Under 12’s: Game Friday, May 17th @ 7.15pm, home to passage

Under 12’s: Game Monday, May 20th @ 7pm, away to Aghada

Congratulations & Best Wishes

Congratulations to Daire O Leary and the Cork minor team who got their Electric Ireland Munster MHC campaign off to a winning start on Sunday with an impressive win over Tipperary at Páirc Uí Chaoimh. Daire lined out at number 11 but unfortunately got injured on 25 minutes and had to be replaced. We wish Daire a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in the county colours very soon. It’s a great honour for any club when they have players representing the county at any level and we are very proud of Daire. Best of luck to Cork minors and of course to Daire for the rest of the campaign.

Juvenile Results

Our U10's were out last Saturday morning against Aghada on a nice morning for hurling. We played two games and came out on top in both. The lads put in a great shift across both games, worked hard for each other and applied themselves really well. Great commitment shown by all but a special mention for Oisin O' Bric who had been up since 3am that morning doing the Darkness into Light Walk. Fair play Oisin and well done boys. Hon the Hill.

Our U11's were in action last Friday night against Kinsale. We had two teams taking on two good Kinsale teams in what was two very competitive and enjoyable games of hurling. This is an exciting bunch of players and anyone who has the opportunity to come and see them in action won’t be disappointed. Once again the skill levels on show defy their young age, with excellent passages of play leading to great scores in both games. Congrats to Zac Curtin who made is competitive debut last night and to young Sam O Leary, one of our U8 players who stepped in at short notice and played excellently. Score of the game was a humdinger John Fentonesque pull on the sliotar from Jack Long and a cracker of a goal. Well done boys and well done to the coaches doing a great job with this team.
